This barbequed pork ribs will give you incredibly juicy, full of heavenly barbecue flavours and will melt in your mouth!

Serves: 4 people

Ingredients

For the Ribs:

½ cup soya sauce (125 ml)
¼ cup brown sugar (65 ml)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (15 ml)
1 tsp salt (5 ml)
1 cup water (250 ml)
750 g meaty pork ribs

For the Barbeque Sauce:

½ cup tomato sauce (125 ml)
½ cup chilli sauce or hot chutney (125 ml)
3 tbsp brown sugar (45 ml)
1 tsp dry mustard (5 ml)
1/3 cup water (80 ml)

Method

For the Ribs:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. In a medium saucepan, combine soya sauce, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and water.
  2. Bring to a boil, set aside and cool to room temperature.
  3. In a large roaster, place ribs and pour over marinade.
  4. Marinate ribs in fridge for a few hours, turning occasionally to thoroughly coat the meat.
  5. Drain excess marinade.
  6. Cover roaster with a lid and bake for 90 minutes.

For the Barbeque Sauce:

  1. While ribs are roasting, blend tomato sauce, chilli sauce or hot chutney, sugar, dry mustard and water in a large saucepan.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil, stir until sugar dissolves, remove from heat.
  3. When ribs are cooked and tender, remove from oven.
  4. Lower oven temperature to 180°C.
  5. Brush ribs on both sides with barbeque sauce, return to oven and bake uncovered for 30 minutes
