This homemade lemonade is a simple, classic that everyone can enjoy. It is a perfect drink for a hot summer’s day.

Serves: 2 Litres

Ingredients

1¾ cups sugar (350 g)
8 cups water (2 l)
1½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (375 ml)

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water, bring to a boil and stir to dissolve sugar.
  2. Remove saucepan from heat and allow mixture to cool to room temperature.
  3. Cover saucepan and refrigerate until chilled.
  4. Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave the pulp.
  5. In a pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups of water.
  6. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
