This is the perfect mutton curry that you must try for a homely week night dinner with your family. It goes well with chapati or rice.

Serves: 8 people
Ingredients
1 tbsp curry powder (15 ml)
2 tsp turmeric powder (10 ml)
1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste (15 ml)
2 kg stewing mutton
6 to 8 medium potatoes,
cleaned and halved
3 tbsp sunflower oil (45 ml)
2 large onions, peeled and sliced
2 to 4 green chillies, chopped
1 can tomato relish (410 g)
500 g frozen mixed vegetables
Salt, to taste
Method
- Mix curry powder, turmeric, and garlic and ginger paste together.
- In a large bowl, place mutton and potatoes; rub with curry mixture.
- Marinate in fridge for at least 1 hour.
- In a large pot, heat oil; fry onions and chillies.
- Add tomato relish, mutton and potatoes; fry for 10 minutes over high heat.
- Turn heat down, cook for 1 hour.
- Add veggies and salt; cook for 15 minutes.
- Serve with sambals, naan, rotis, chapati or rice.
