Learn how to make succulent beef burgers with this recipe. An easy and quick recipe for perfect homemade patties!

Ingredients

For Beef Patties:
1 kg beef mince
1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
2 tsp Dijon mustard (10 ml)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (15 ml)
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped (65 ml)
1 large dill pickle gherkin, finely chopped
2 large eggs
¼ cup oil (65 ml)
Salt and pepper


To Cook and Serve:
2 tbsp sunflower oil (30 ml)
200 g cheddar cheese, sliced
6 burger buns
¼ cup mayonnaise (65 ml)
2 tsp Dijon mustard (10 ml)
Lettuce leaves
Tomato, sliced
Avocado, sliced
Red onion, sliced

Method

For the Beef Patties:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a large bowl, season and mix well.
  2. Using wet hands shape mixture into 8 patties.
  3. Cover and chill in fridge for 30 minutes.


To cook and serve:

  1. In a pan, heat oil, fry patties for 5 minutes each side until browned and cooked through.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat oven grill to medium-hot.
  3. Top each patty with a slice of cheese, grill for 2 minutes until cheese bubbles.
  4. If desired, toast the burger buns until lightly golden.
  5. Mix the mayonnaise and mustard; spread over the base of each bun.
  6. Top with lettuce, tomato, avocado, patty and onions.
  7. Cover with the other half of the bun and serve
