This steamed ginger pudding recipe is so easy to make and tastes delicious. Perfect desert to serve at a gathering.

Ingredients
250 g butter or margarine
1 cup sugar (200 g)
2 eggs
2½ cups cake wheat flour (320 g)
3½ tsp baking powder (18 ml)
½ tsp salt (3 ml)
2 tbsp ground ginger (30 ml)
1 cup milk (250 ml)
Method
- In a medium bowl, using an electric whisk, beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture.
- Add milk and mix until smooth.
- Pour mixture into a 2-litre greased glass pudding bowl and cover with foil.
- Pour water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Place pudding bowl in saucepan (water must reach halfway up the bowl), and steam pudding for 2½ hours.
- Serve warm with custard.
